About Dr. Kazuki Takada

Kazuki Takada, MD, is a provider of internal medicine and rheumatology services for patients throughout the Metropolitan Tokyo area. At Park East Clinic Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Dr. Takada offers expert medical care for various rheumatic, autoimmune, and systemic inflammatory conditions, as well as internal medicine diseases.
After receiving M.D. from Kyushu University School of Medicine in 1994, Dr. Takada completed one-year super-rotating internship at United States Naval Hospital in Yokosuka and one-year internal medicine residency training at Kameda Medical Center in Japan. He then moved to the United States in 1996 and completed a three-year internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, and a three-year rheumatology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. During the fellowship, Dr. Takada engaged in observational as well as investigational clinical research in rheumatoid arthritis, lupus nephritis, and dermatomyositis. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to clinical care, teaching, and research, Dr. Takada was honored with the Rheumatology Fellow Award by the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Takada returned to Japan in 2002 and served as a full-time faculty member at Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Medical and Dental University). Throughout his tenure, he provided compassionate, patient-centered care, which he considers as his lifelong mission. In addition to practicing rheumatology at the university hospital, Tokyo Midtown Clinic in Roppongi, and Karuizawa West General Hospital in Nagano, he conducted observational and investigational clinical research focused on interstitial lung diseases associated with idiopathic inflammatory myositis during the first decade of his academic career. In the following decade, he contributed to curricular reform and university internationalization of the university. As a teaching professor, Dr. Takada received numerous awards for his excellence in teaching from graduating classes and from the university.
To dedicate more time to his patients and fully pursue his mission, he left his full-time university position at Institute of Science Tokyo and established Park East Clinic Kiyosumi Shirakawa in May 2024.
Dr. Takada is one of the most dedicated English-speaking, US-licensed, and US board-certified internists and rheumatologists in Tokyo.
