Diagnostics equipments

Laboratory analyzers (blood counts, biochemistry)

Quick in-house measurements are available for blood tests (such as white blood cells, red blood cells, platelet count), biochemical tests (such as liver function, kidney function, electrolytes), diabetes tests (HbA1c), an inflammatory marker (CRP), and urine tests. Results are typically available within 20 to 30 minutes after blood or urine collection.

Tests for autoantibodies and other specialized blood or urine tests are outsourced to external laboratories. Results are typically available within about a week.

Bone densitometry (DXA)

We are equipped with bone densitometry that use the DXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) method to measure bone density to diagnose osteoporosis and determine fracture risk.

DXA is a highly reliable method and is recommended in guidelines for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. We measure areas at risk of fractures in the lumbar spine and femoral neck, which can significantly reduce ADL/QOL in the event of a fall.

The measurement is highly accurate, and the radiation exposure is about one-third of that from a chest X-ray.

ALPHYS LF

Ultrasound machine

We have installed ultrasound machine in exam rooms to perform non-invasive image assessments immediately. This compact device, equipped with many of the advanced features found in hospital-based ultrasound systems, allows timely image assessments of joints, the heart, the abdomen, etc., at the point of care.

Requests to wear masks

Although the classification of COVID-19 has been downgraded, and wearing masks is now a personal choice, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare continues to recommend wearing masks in clinics and hospitals to prevent infections among those at high risk of severe COVID-19.

Our clinic serves many elderly patients, individuals with weakened immune response, and those using immunosuppressive drugs for rheumatic diseases.

To protect these vulnerable individuals, to protect you and your loved ones, and to protect our staff who are dedicated to your health, we continue to request that masks be worn inside the clinic.

If you are not wearing a mask, our staff will kindly remind you to do so. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • National Health Insurance(国民健康保険)
  • Employees’ Health Insurance(健康保険)
  • Health insurance for individuals aged 75 and over(後期高齢者医療制度)
  • Workers’ Compensation Insurance(労災保険)

Our clinic is also authorized by governments to provide telemedicine.

Generic Prescribing

Our clinic promotes the use of generic drugs and undertakes initiatives to ensure a stable supply of medications. Specifically, we may prescribe medications by their generic names (based on the active ingredients), rather than specifying a brand name, especially for drugs available as generics.

Currently, the supply of some drugs may be limited, but generic prescribing makes it easier to provide necessary medications to patients, even when specific drugs are in short supply.

If you have any questions about generic prescribing, please consult our staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Long-term and refill prescriptions

At our clinic, the physician may prescribe medications for a period longer than 28 days or issue refill prescriptions if deemed appropriate based on the patient’s condition and prescription details. Please ask the physician if you are interested in these options.

Invoice

To promote transparency in healthcare, our clinic issues detailed invoices free of charge at the time of billing. We also issue invoices to those who do not have a co-payment obligation, if requested. An invoice includes the names of medications, diagnostic tests, and charges for provided services.

If you do not wish to receive invoices, please notify our receptionist at the time of billing.

Patients with fever or symptoms suggestive of infectious diseases

Our clinic accepts patients with fever or symptoms suggestive of infectious diseases, regardless of their visit history.

In the event of an emerging infectious disease, we set dedicated times for treating patients with fever to temporally separate them from those without. Even under normal circumstances, we implement spatial separation in the waiting area and examination rooms.

We strive to minimize your waiting time, but if you have symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or cough, please inform us when you make a reservation.

Lifestyle-related Disease Management Fee

Following the medical fee revision in June 2024, we transitioned from the "Specific Disease Treatment Management Fee" to the "Lifestyle-Related Disease Management Fee (II)" for patients who are being treated primarily for hypertension, dyslipidemia, or diabetes. This change allows for more specialized and comprehensive management based on individual treatment plans.

Along with this, the physician will create a "Lifestyle-Related Disease Treatment Plan" every four months or more frequently, tailored to each patient's goals and specific guidance needs. To prepare this plan, patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire and sign. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

(※1) The transition from the "Specific Disease Treatment Management Fee" to the "Lifestyle-Related Disease Management Fee (II)" will reduce the medical fees for these patients by about 160 yen.

(※2) Patients who do self injections at home have been and will continue to be charged with “Home Self-Injection Instruction and Management Fee”and thus are not eligible for this transition.

After-hours service surcharge

Based on the criteria set by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, an additional fee for "After-hours service surcharge" applies to patients who visit during the following hours. This addition also applies to those who have reservations during these times. We appreciate your understanding. The additional fee is 500 yen, and the amount you pay out of your pocket will vary depending on your health insurance and medical coupons you may have.

  • After 18:00 on weekdays
  • After 12:00 on Saturdays
